from Rev. R. D. Brown
Pastor of Coventry Crossing Christian Church
My earthly father lost his mother when he was 7 years old. That fact seemed to
have consumed him his whole life. He served in the military (Marines) and yet never
wanted me to be exposed to military service. My sister told me, that he once told her
that he, upon return to the States. From military service literally kissed the ground
after he was subjected to Korea, and all that entailed, vowing to do everything he could
to see to it that his son was never bothered by war and the cruelties that ensued by
such. Due to that “prevalent attitude”, I have always been in awe and extremely
appreciative, of those who have served our (MY) Country.
A unique perspective, I possess for having been raised in that environment.
So to, and for my father, I say, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
